You are going to be doing a little art in this lesson. Sketch to Stretch is a reading strategy that allows the reader-YOU!-to imagine a part of the story in your mind, the way you see it. This will take a little more imagination for you because Uncle Jed's Barbershop is a picture book, but I don't want you to only use the pictures in the book for your sketch, so you will be drawing a picture of what you imagine Uncle Jed's barbershop would look like. There is some detail in the story that you can use for inspiration, but I want your drawing to be from your own imagination. Upload it here in the comment box, or take a picture of it and put it on your blog.
Here are your second set of vocabulary words from Uncle Jed's Barbershop. Feel free to turn on the audio and switch up the order of the words. The point here is to get you more comfortable with using different words.
