In this lesson you will work on a vocabulary tree.  A vocabulary tree is a tool to use when you learn new words.  There are many different kinds, but the one you will be working on today is full of words from Uncle Jed's Barbershop. I have given you a vocab word from the story, and it is your job to come up with three synonyms for each words.
  • A synonym is a word that has the same meaning as another word in the same language.
What this means is that two words that don't sound alike can mean the same thing, like "cat" and "kitty."

You will need a book full of synonyms to help you, and that kind of book is called a thesaurus.  It has nothing else in it except synonyms.  There is one for you to use in Word, or you could use the one at this link:

You will need to download the document at the link under the vocabulary tree in order to fill it out.
